Summer Performance
We will be holding auditions for both principal and chorus roles for our 2026 summer production of The Gondoliers, with performances scheduled for July 18-26 in the Cullen Theater at the Wortham Theater Center.
All performers will be compensated. More information will be available soon at
https://hgns.org/auditions
Rehearsals will begin mid-June 2026 and are typically 3-4x/week on weekday evenings at weekend afternoons.
Please prepare an aria from the Gilbert & Sullivan repertoire, any English-language opera, a song from legit musical theater. If multiple pieces are offered, one of your selections should be of comedic nature. You may be asked to read a side from the script , and demonstrate some proficiency in movement.
On the day of the audition, bring a copy of your music for the accompanist (provided), your resume, and headshot. No backing tracks, please.
Volunteer with G&S
“Congratulate me, gentlemen, I’ve found a volunteer!”
The work of the Society is a proud Houston community effort. If you are interested in contributing to our mission, please fill in the following form and you’ll join our pool of volunteers. We’ll call upon you from time to time as the need arises.
While we don’t have many volunteer opportunities for backstage or production work, we always need a hand with various tasks to help the Society run smoothly, such as ushering or helping to sell merchandise. And if you have a special skill such as:
- Bookkeeping
- Outreach/publicity
- Social media management
- Fundraising/grant writing
- Advertising
- Database management (DonorPerfect)
. . . or anything helpful to a non-profit arts organization, then let us know that, too!

Donate to G&S
As a non-profit organization, our mission to bring high-quality musical theatre to the city of Houston is first and foremost in our minds. Because of this dedication to keeping our shows accessible to all Houstonians, the ticket revenues do not cover our yearly operating costs for the organization.
Contributors to the Society who donate at the Patron level or above are given early access to prime seating.
